Description
Tim Symonds was born in London. He grew up in Somerset, Dorset and the British Crown Dependency of Guernsey. After several years farming on the slopes of Mt. Kenya and working on the Zambezi River in Central Africa, he emigrated to the United States. He studied at the University of California, Los Angeles, graduating Phi Beta Kappa, and at Göttingen University, in Germany. He is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society.
