Kate Darroch lives on the beautiful Devon coast in a sleepy small town which is so full of friendliness that it feels like living in a time warp. That terrific sense of community inspired her first book Death in Paris, a Màiri Maguire Cozy Mystery, which has won 15 international book awards including Readers Favorite Gold Medal for Humor, Entrada Best Christian Fiction and Best Clean Mystery, and Firebird's Best First Publication and Best in Genre.

It was also picked by Publishers Weekly for Indie Fiction Spotlight, 25 March 2022. Kate has since written 9 novellas and short stories about Màiri and her family set in Merrylea, Glasgow, and is hard at work on Death in Europe, a trilogy of Màiri's adventures en route to Istanbul.

Kate also writes the Huntingdon Hart Investigates stories; and blogs jokes and book reviews. She hopes that readers will enjoy her stories as much as she enjoys Sherlock Holmes, Father Brown, Ellery Queen, and Jana DeLeon's Miss Fortune series.
